Some homes and businesses are excluded and do not need to be inspected. The properties that do not need to be inspected include: 1. Homes built "slab on grade" 2. Mobile homes 3. Residence or business that are not connected to the City's sanitary sewer Businesses must be inspected even if they do not have a sump pump or basement. Private property must be inspected if it has a basement. If you have no sump pump, there is no charge for the inspection. The cost to conduct an inspection is $27.00 per water meter per inspection and will be charged to your water bill once the inspection has been completed. To reduce the cost to residents, we suggest that you make sure your sump pump is properly installed before scheduling an inspection. Click here to see a diagram showing proper sump pump installation.
